Lori Kella, Photographer (American). As a resident of Vermont Studio Center (VSC, USA) in March 2018, I took a chance to interviewing and photographing about 20 artists and writers among the VSC’ residents, to find out how their art-works reflects their faces or just the blur sketches? The artist with various styles, is person who has different faces, characters? The artists and writers were being asked to select their favorite or latest art works, which being used for multi-exposure with their faces. Several artists were very surprised when saw their new faces. What is a true portrait of the artist when they, like many other people, change over time, event in every moment. What are the facial features that are sustainable, and which parts are most susceptible to change? In parallen, I also interviewed and recorded them with short videos. My common questions are: why and how did they become the artists, how did they create their own styles, who were the most influential persons in their career, their ambitions as well as what challenges do they have to overcome in the digital age? My aim is to show a multi- nuanced portrait of the artist and writers.
