Introduction

“Mathematics, with its infinite variations, has always been one of the most fascinating and mysterious disciplines of human thought. Often associated with numbers and formulas, it is also recognized as a source of timeless visual beauty and boundless creativity. Mathematics is a universal language, an invisible force that outlines the very contours of the Universe, significantly transcending them in the desire to chart new avenues of inquiry, creation, and experimentation. This competition invites you to discover, investigate, and narrate the hidden beauty of mathematics through the lens of photography. Each image should strive to capture the visual essence of mathematical concepts, transforming them into something that not only can be “seen” but also evokes wonder and curiosity. The challenge of the competition is, therefore, to translate the purity and precision of mathematical concepts into original and captivating images that can stimulate the viewer to see the world with a new perspective. A mathematical background is not required to participate: any subject that expresses an idea of order, symmetry, proportion, or showcases the beauty of mathematical structures can become the heart of a photograph, as a documented thought, as a draft of a language that can ultimately tell mathematics in a creative, evocative, eclectic, personal, and innovative way.” L.M.
